Hey, y’all! I’m Lindsay, a small-town dreamer raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I’ve always seen the world through story’s lens. Every wisp of fog rising over our mountain, every whisper of leaves as I walk through the forest, every bloom that against all odds, pokes its head out again after another bitter winter sparks a story and hints of magic.

Now, I’m a homeschooling mom of three, who thrives on good, homemade food, the rhythm of the seasons, and travel. After a decade of renovating houses with my husband to pay off our student debt, he became a builder and I help design our houses - infusing each with soul and storybook flare. And I write books. About cursed towns. Magical houses. And Love. You know… the good stuff.

Whenever someone asks what I do, I often laugh and say, “I’m a professional dabbler.” On the surface, it may seem that truer words were never spoken. My list of interests and accolades seems varied. But there is a common thread, a lifeblood that runs through it all. I eat, drink, and breathe creativity and magic. Whether I’m dreaming up worlds for my books, spaces in our home, or the next homeschool lesson, I do it with passion and with one goal in mind. To infuse beauty, story, and a little soul into the world.

    The former owners called it Trash Palace. We just call it home. Inspired by the English Countryside and lots of magic, we couldn’t imagine a better place to put down roots.

    After four full renovations, it was time to build from the ground up. I designed this house to feel like the storybook cottage of my dreams. And it was.

  • Tiny stone cottage

    Our foray into living small, this 1,000 sq. ft. stone cottage was the sweetest spot to raise two toddlers and a great dane … for awhile.
